The Mirion FASTSCAN whole body counter is designed for fast and accurate monitoring of internal radionuclide contamination with energies between 300 keV and 1.8 MeV. Ideal for power plants and similar facilities, the system uses large sodium iodide (NaI) detectors and advanced software to detect low levels of contamination in as little as one minute.
With its intuitive design, operators can easily position individuals in front of the detectors, and the system handles the rest—from counting and analyzing to printing reports. Equipped with dual large-area NaI detectors, it ensures uniform detection along the body, offering highly sensitive detection, including a Lower Limit of Detection of 150 Bq for 60Co.
The FASTSCAN system’s shadow shield minimizes background interference, utilizing low background steel to optimize performance in environments with elevated background radiation levels. The system is fully operational immediately after installation.
